Let the journey begin! 

In the afternoon, we will take an evening flight from Beijing to your first destination, Zhangjiajie in China's Hunan province. Upon arrival in Zhangjiajie we drive directly to our 4-star hotel for check-in. 

Good morning! After an early breakfast, we’ll spend the day exploring Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China’s first national forest park and the inspiration for Avatar’s floating mountains!

A highlight will be the towering Southern Sky Column (aka Avatar Hallelujah Mountain), a colossal 1,080-foot quartz-sandstone monolith shaped by nature over millennia. Get ready for a magical, misty adventure!

It's time to visit Tianmen Mountain and Tianmen Cave (aka "Heaven’s Gate"), the world’s highest naturally formed cave! 

We’ll start with a cable car ride for breathtaking aerial views before venturing into the park’s stunning landscape, towering sandstone pillars, lush forests, hidden caves, and cascading waterfalls. Keep an eye out for monkeys, birds, and salamanders!

Once we reach the Heaven’s Gate, we’ll climb down the 999-step Heaven’s Stairway, a symbolic number meaning "eternity" in Chinese culture. It’s a workout, but the views are worth it!

After a stop at a local market and dinner, we’ll drive to Fenghuang, a UNESCO-listed town with glowing lanterns, riverside stilt houses, and centuries-old bridges. A magical end to the day!

Today our journey takes us to to Dehang Miao Minority Village and explore its marvelous mountain scenery. We will learn more about one of China's most colorful ethnic tribes, browse through local markets and even get a taste of a few delicacies! 

In the local language, "Dehang" means "beautiful valley" and the site of this village is precicely that - a beautiful, lush paradise situated below steep cliffs.

This morning is yours to enjoy Fenghuang at your own pace. In the afternoon drive back to Zhangjiajie for an evening flight to Beijing and transfer to your hotel. 

Sadly, our journey together has come to an end, but packed with unforgettable memories! 

Depending on your departure time, you might be able to do some last-minute shopping or take in more of Beijing's sights. Hotel check-out is before noon.
